ADACS @ 2020 HWSA

The 2020 Harley Wood School of Astronomy was the first virtual school, run under the overarching theme of “Wild West” , inspired by the school being held in Western Australia.

Held over one day the school offered tutorials run in parallel to cater to different experience levels and talks bringing all participants back together in the main call.

The 2020 HWSA was the biggest school yet as it was live streamed, allowing students who would usually not be able to travel for this to attend. Out of 172 individual registrations, 115 were from domestic institutions and 59 from international ones. During the day of the school the maximum number of attendees reached 114, with over 100 students online for the majority of the day.
