The 2021 HWSA (Harley Wood School of Astronomy) was a hybrid school delivered in person at the La Trobe University Albury-Wodonga campus (Vic/NSW border) and online over the weekend preceding the annual scientific meeting of the ASA (Astronomical Society of Australia).
Over 100 attendees participated in a mix of talks and tutorials and social activities for the in-person school.
ADACS delivered training on Version Control split into beginner and advanced groups.
This content was also delivered at the OzGrav 2021 ECR (Early Career Researcher) workshop in November (see schedule here).

This course is aimed at researchers who are new to using HPC facilities and is intended to be an overview of HPC concepts.
The NextFlow training provided comprehensive instruction on workflow orchestration, including running and developing NextFlow workflows, using containers (docker and singularity), configuring NextFlow with SLURM, and covering best practices.
Most ECRs do not receive any formal training in critical software engineering skills. The ASA (Astronomical Society of Australia) collaborated with ADACS to run an intensive workshop to address this knowledge gap.
